Leap of Faith

I took a leap of faith yesterday. I submitted my name to be a Big Sister.  I have always wanted to be part of the Big Brother/Big Sister program.  It has been on my mind and heart since I left my job.  I love kids.  My only concern is can I handle it. They suggest that you spend at least one hour every week so I thought "I can handle that".  I confess I really did not pray about it like I should have(that's another blog in itself).  The challenge is to find something that we both like that does not require extensive walking since I am unable to walk long distances.  I ask that you pray that if it is God's will, I will pass all background checks and interviews and that God will give me the ability to do what I need to do with this child.  I will keep you posted on the process.  Love and hugs to all my "blogging"  family.

You are brave and so kind to even try to do this. There is such a great need for mentors for these children. Will be praying for you.

Hey Keena, of course it's God's will! Jesus tells us we are to have faith and is this not what you have done? We are told to love one another and by the sounds of things that is exactly what you are doing. God is good and He will aid you in any good works. Always. God bless you my friend, love, Geoff.

I am praying for you--that your heart, mind and soul be anointed and touched by our Lord and that you be led to guide your charge in the way He would have you lead. Just ask for His Light and your path will be illuminated, for you are His child. Be blessed and know that you are doing exactly what you need to be doing. Cynthia
