Blogfest Blessings.....

I was challenged by a friend to blog about my 10 greatest blessings on today.  It's strange that it is today b/c today I am feeling bummed.  So I pray this exercice will help lighten my load.  Here is what blesses me....

  1. My relationship w/ God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit
  2. The Bible(although I have neglected it far too long).
  3. My hubby- I enjoy travelling thru life with him by my side, even the rough parts of life.
  4. Friends-both those IRL and Online. They have been so supportive.
  5. My ability to read, write, see, hear, taste, touch and smell.
  6. The Internet!!!!  Tis true.
  7. Getting out of the house on those days that I feel well.
  8. Church when I am feeling well enough to go.
  9. Laughter, esp that of children.
  10. My hubby!! Yes, I know I have already listed him but he is worthy to be listed twice. He has been my rock these last few months.  He is supportive and understanding of my illnesses and loves me despite of my limitations.

What blesses you?? What are you thankful for today?? I would love to read your thoughts!!

Lovely list. I hope it helped you to feel less bummed. It's always nice to remember our blessings.

Counting your blessings is a wonderful way to get rid of the blues! I sometimes keep a Joy Journal - jotting down all the little things (even in a rotten day) that bring me joy. Hmmm...I should do that tonight. I'm bummed, to, today - badly crashed.

My husband and my kids are definitely at the top of my list...and my husband deserves 2 spots in the top 10, too!!

Keena I'm so glad I found you! Thanks for helping me solve that silly mystery - my oops. I know exactly what you mean about searching around for 10 blessings when I've been feeling bummed. This last year, there were many, many days when I would get to number 4 on my list, and come to a stop. Then I would pray, and open my eyes again to see the blessings.
I hope your day has been blessed, and that the Lord has surrounded you and lifted you up.
Thanks for being a blessing!!!

That's a fabulous list, I don't think I would change a thing. My spouse rates one fifth of the list as well.

Thank You.

Wonderful list!

What Am I Thankful for today?

1. The fact that our Sovereign, Majestic, Holy, Self-sufficient, self-existent, God who did not need anything at all, choose to extend grace to me and save me, not that He received anything, but that He might bestow everything upon me.

2. The fact that not only did God choose to bestow grace on me, but by His Holy Spirit chose to gift me with the gift of teaching and allows me to use that gift to His honor and glory.

3. The fact that my wife and I will celebrate on the 18th of this month 38 years of marriage; some great and some not so great, all by the grace of God.

4. The fact that I have four wonderful girls, all grown with families of their own.

5. The fact that I have four wonderful grandchildren who love to call me grampa.

6. The fact that I have sight and the ability to read and a love-affair with good, God-honoring books.

7. the fact that God is allowing to disciple two men and to impact them for the Kingdom of God and His glory.

8. The fact that God is so gracious and do delights in us his children as to give us such things as root-beer, choclate chip ice cream, BBQ steak, BBQ ribs, and BBQ chicken.

9. The fact that God is a God of variety, creativity, and delights in a multitude of colors, fragrances, shapes, sizes, textures, and designs in plants, trees, shrubs, grass, mountains, deserts, hills, valleys, oceans, rivers, etc, and we get to enjoy them to his glory.

10. The fact that God has bestowed a horrific trial on us at this time in order to further develop our love, trust, faith in him and patience as He continues to conform us into the image of His dear Son.

Sometimes when you are feeling down it helps to list good things, I hope it worked for you. Today I am thankful for the beautiful weather outside that I am about to go enjoy.
