M I A.....

It seems like these last few weeks I have been missing in action.  I have not been feeling well.  Depression has been my companion over these last few weeks and I have not felt like doing anything.  Good news is - I will not let it control me.  I will fight and take action against this demon that I have fought for years.  I appreciate all prayers and kind words of encouragement.  Don't worry.... I will be back to myself in time.  I just need to refocus on those things that are of importance and delve into God's WORD.  Thank you for your understanding and support.  You are a help whether you realize it or not.  I take comfort in knowing that I have friends that care for my well being.   May you have a blessed week and I will return shortly.

Bowling Tournament

My husband and I are in the SC State Bowling Tournament this weekend.  This is my 1st tourney ever. I am a new bowler.  I am going in with a 94 average, but usually bowl at least 102 or greater.  It's going to be fun.  I am taken the place of one member that had to drop out due to vertigo.  Now, understand this one point.  I will be hurting after I bowl. For one, it has been a few weeks since I bowled due to my knee injury.  When I practised it was killer on my body. Second, bowling usually does make me hurt with the Fibromyalgia  and Arthritis.  I will just take a day or two afterwards to chill.  I really enjoy bowling although I am not too good at it.  It gets me out. I use my muscles. I socialize with my friends.  I do have some "payback" time, but every thing I do has that. SO, I try to do a little at a time, then rest and try to enjoy as much as I can and not let my illnesses ruin my life
I hope all have a great weekend and I will post pics when we return home.

Leap of Faith

I took a leap of faith yesterday. I submitted my name to be a Big Sister.  I have always wanted to be part of the Big Brother/Big Sister program.  It has been on my mind and heart since I left my job.  I love kids.  My only concern is can I handle it. They suggest that you spend at least one hour every week so I thought "I can handle that".  I confess I really did not pray about it like I should have(that's another blog in itself).  The challenge is to find something that we both like that does not require extensive walking since I am unable to walk long distances.  I ask that you pray that if it is God's will, I will pass all background checks and interviews and that God will give me the ability to do what I need to do with this child.  I will keep you posted on the process.  Love and hugs to all my "blogging"  family.
