The Bible in 90 days......
A fellow blogger challenged me to read the Bible, entire Bible in 90 days. I am going to give my best effort to finish this challenge. It will not be easy, but it will be so worth it. I am behind b/c I started late. BUT, I will not let that deter me from finishing my goal. This is something that I have always wanted to do. Read the entire Bible from cover to cover. It takes about an hour of reading a day. That is not too bad for an avid reader like myself. IF you care to join me, go to http://www.biblein90days.org/ or www.momstoolbox.com . I would LOVE to have some friends join me in this challenge. Well, I need want to go do my nightly reading now..... Have a great day!!!!

Good for you! I was doing the Bible in one year but got bogged down in Leviiticus.......
Why don't you try it again?? We can be accountable to one another
no, no, no, no, no! I think it is SO FANTASTIC to read the Bible but I don't like reading plans like this. If you get behind, it is hard to get back on track. I had a great reading plan from one of my churches we went to in the past; it got you through the Old Testament in two years and the New Testament in one year (so you repeated the New Testament the second year). It was only a chapter or two from the Old and New Testament on a daily basis.
When I read the Bible cover to cover, it takes me about 13-14 months. Lately, I've been doing different studies, spending time in Psalms, different books of the Bible, etc.
Read daily but don't put yourself on a "90 day program" or "1 year program". Allow yourself to really read it and allow God's Holy Spirit to reveal His word to you, no matter how long it takes to do so.
I spend about 20-30 minutes reading the Bible daily (sometimes its hard on the weekend) and pray for about 20-30 minutes (again hard on the weekend). I read whatever I'm going to read and see what God is saying or wants me to know and I journal it.
It is easy to get bogged down in Leviticus and some of the other books in the Old Testament. That is why to go slower so you don't have as many chapter to read daily of it. When you have been through it a few times, you'll find there are so many good lessons learned from Leviticus as well as all the books of the Bible.
So slow down, take your time and enjoy reading the best book ever written and our manual on how to do life. It will change your life
here's a post I wrote about reading the Bible back in 2009

I won't take your challenge of the Bible in 90 days, but I will take the challenge to read the Bible daily :)
betty
@ Betty, I see where you are coming from and I can understand your reservations. However, having a plan helps me stay accountable and keeps me motivated. I do understand that we need to "hear" the WORD and not just read. After I do the 90 challenge, I will probably read it like you have described. YES, it is the greatest book around and we should learn it and live it daily.
Hi,
I've been reading your blog for a bit now.
I think the advantage of 90 day or one year plans is that one gets to see the big picture. That includes making connections across books and across the ages that might not otherwise get made.
My wife and I are taking the polar opposite approach. It took us about eight years to read the OT. I'm not kidding. But we use the NIV Study bible, and we read the footnotes, then read additional material as we see fit. Which we always do. The advantage of that method is that one can gain insight from even tiny details in the readings.
Thanks for stopping by. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods. Thanks for commenting. I hope you continue to visit with me.
I've just finished an 8 month reading plan. The hardest part is catching up. So, 90 days is quite a challenge. I wish you the best!
Good luck with this challenge, I know of others who have done it or are in process. I hope to do this eventually but just can't commit to it right now!
I look forward to hearing of your progress.
Blessings to you!
Trudy
