In Genesis God said that Adam(man) should have a helpmate(Eve). I take the responsibility of being my husbands helpmate very seriously. I believe that it is the job of every wife to encourage, uplift and support her husband. Ladies, we can do this in various ways. First and foremost is to take care of his physical needs. What I mean by this is that we should do what we can to make sure our man is feed, rested and stress free. It can be as simple as making sure that there is a loaf of bread in the event he wants to make a sandwich. Secondly, we need to encourage him to be the man that God has created him to be. We need to praise him not only in private but in public as well. I get so frustrated when I hear wives speak ill of there husbands. It matters not whether is "true" or not. We as wives should make people think our husbands are the greatest. If our husbands think we belittle them in public, our "private" words will have no effect on their attitude. I love my husband and I want to do anything and everything to encourage and uplift him. NO, he is not perfect but he IS perfect for me.
What do you do to be the helpmate to your husbands???

G is for Gratitude......
I am trying to cultivate a spirit of gratitude within myself. To do this, I try to think about all the blessing that God has bestowed upon me. It's so easy to get caught up in the worry and trials of everyday living. It must be a deliberate action to keep one's mind on the postitive and not the negitive. What do YOU do to cultivate a spirit of gratitude within yourself??

F is for Friendship......
Friendship is an important aspect of our lives. The greatest friend that I have is Jesus Christ. He laid down His life for me. He promised that He would never leave nor forsake me. My next dearest friend is my husband. He is extremely supportive and understanding of my limitations. He is a great husband. We have fun together and get along well. Then, there is my mom. We talk every day. I enjoy the times that I can spend with her. Then there are my online buddies whom some I talk to just about everyday. I don't have many close friends but have several acquaintances with whom I enjoy their company. I may not have a lot of friends by today's standards but those I do call friends are very special to me I hope you have at least one person whom you can call friend. I believe God created us to be joined to others. Thank you God for my friends.

Still here......
Hello fellow Bloggers!!!!!
Just a small note to say that I'm still here....I am looking forward to the A-Z challenge this year. I hope that it can motivate and inspire me to blog more frequently than what I am doing now. I just can't help but feel like my mojo is gone. How I lost it I don't know. Like I said in an earlier post, I am trying to make changes in my life and it's been hard. There are SO many things that I need to change. SO many things that I have let slip. Some of these things are physical, some are spirtual and some are emotional. I know tat God will help me make these changes but I still have a lot of work to do on my own. I am excited about making my life as best as it can. I covet any suggestions, advise, prayers or just words of encouragement. Thanks for being my friends and I love each of you with a godly love. Take care and have a blessed week.

I'm Here......
I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks. I just have not had the interest. I feel like I lost my "mojo". However, things here are fine. My hubby has caught a sinus infection and bronchitis. He is doing better now after much medicine. On a brighter side, he also has two job interviews. Both are for a position as correction officer in one of our local jails. He has 19 yrs experience in this field so that should be a major plus for him. I ask that if you believe in prayer, please pray for God's will in this situation. He really needs a better job than what he has now.
I am trying to make some changes in my life but its been SO hard. I have NO self-disicpline. Please pray for me too. I want to make our life better but trying to change life patterns is no easy task. Any suggestions???
I will try to blog more often but sometimes I have a hard time coming up with fresh and interesting ideas.
I pray that all have a great and blessed week!!!

Blah Days and Disappointments.......
This last week I kind of been away from the blogging world. I did not post nor did I visit my usual blogs. I have had some "blah" days. I just felt overwhelmed by life and stayed on the couch most of the time. I did go dog sit for my sister-in-law, but that was about all I did last week. Do you ever have those days? No matter what I couldn't shake it. Then today I had 2 disappointments. Oh well, life isn't always a bowl full of cherries, huh? Today, I visited "my" blogger buddies and hopefully I will keep back on track with my blogging. Do you ever fall off the blogging wagon? I hope everyone has a great week. GOD is still in control!!!

Update on Ankle/Toe.......
I went back to the doctor on Sunday to have the stitches taken out of my toe. The dr. said that a radiologist looked at the x-rays and that all was normal. So, she gave(not gave but will charge me and my insurance) a walking boot. I have used it a couple of times. I have also walked without it and its not too bad. The swelling is still there and I am black/blue from my little toe to my heel. Thankfully, I have not had too much pain. I was actually able to take a "REAL" shower. I feel human again. I should be back to my bowling self in about 3 weeks. At least that's what the doc says. Now the tide has turned and my hubby is having a terrible gout attack in his heel along with some tendinitis. AH!! How is everyone else doing???? How has your week gone??? Would love to hear from you???

5 Year Anniversary......
I am writing this today but tomorrow is the 5 yr anniversary of the day that I first met my hubby. I remember the day so well. It was a Thursday and we were to meet at a local resturant. I was so nervous. I had a girlfriend of mine scope him out b4 I walked in. I even remembeer what I was wearing. We had dinner and talked for about 4 hours. I remember thinking whether this guy was telling me the truth or not. I found out later-He was. I felt comfortable with him. He walked me out to my car and asked for a kiss. I told him -NO! I would not kiss on the first date, however I allowed him to kiss me on the check. By the 3rd date, I knew that this was the man I was to marry and 3 1/2 months later we did get married. One of the best decisions I ever made. I thank God daily for bringing me a great husband. It was well worth the wait.

M is for Marriage.......
MARRIAGE. What does that word bring to mind when you say or read it? For me it means happiness. You see, I have a wonderful marriage. I have a husband that loves me unconditionally. That's the way it's supposed to be. I am an old-fashion kinda gal. I believe that marriage is to be between one man and one women and it is to be forever. I do not judge those that have been married several times(I'm my husbands 3rd wife) or those that are divorced because I know that things happen. However, I believe that if people took their vows and marriage more seriously, America would have a lower incidence of divorce and break up. The problem from my perspective is that people forget what commitment means. That is the key to any marriage. I made a commitment to my husband and I will keep that to the best of my ability. Commitment last thru anger, hurt, disappointment and desire. I commit to love my husband. To commit to someone is an aggressive verb. I make it happen. I can not leave it to its own. I have to work at it. Even when I don't like my husbands behavior or attitude, I stand by my commitment.
Another key to marriage is friendship. My husband and I are best friends. We talk about every thing and listen to one other without judgement or condemnation. We laugh together, we joke together and we support one another. We have been married for 4 1/2 yrs but I could not imagine my life with out him nor how I survived the 35 yrs before him. I am a better women because of my husband. He gives me such love and thoughtfulness that I am just amazed at times. Now before you start to wonder let me explain something right now. MY HUSBAND IS NOT PERFECT!!!!! Although I sometimes talk like he is, he does have his faults.
Thats' another key in my relationship with my husband. I concentrate on the positive behavior that my husband demonstrates not the faulty behavior. God has taught me that. Every time I would complain to God that Bob did something "wrong", God would rebuke me for similar behavior. God has taught me to focus on what Bob does right not on what he does that I don't like. Just like people every marriage has its weaknesses and its strengths. The goal is to work on those weaknesses without judgement and revel in your strengths.
The last thing I like to mention is that a marriage is like a triangle with GOD being the top point and each partner is the bottom points. As each partner(point) grows closer to the top of the triangle-God, they get closer to one another. The closer each spouse is to God, the closer we grow together. God MUST be the center of every successful marriage.
What doe you feel to be a key to marriage? I would love feedback and comments!!
